Financial Accountant (Galway. Our client is a global pharmaceutical organisation. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced accountant for their office in Galway. The Company: With this organisation each employee has the ability to make a difference. From the providers who sell and market our products, to the producers who develop and manufacture them and finally to our business partners who support the providers and producers. Financial month end close: Prepare payroll, bonus, pension & VHI journals and reconcile on a monthly basis. Prepare profit share accruals on a monthly basis, on a quarterly basis prepare payment reports and liaise with profit share partners. Prepare journal and support analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all items are accurately captured. Prepare 3rd Party Freight analysis & relevant Month end accruals. Prepare amortisations journals. Prepare all SG&A related journals ensuring that all items are accurately captured. Balance Sheet reconciliation and review of key balance sheet accounts. Revenue Recognition: Sales reporting along with variance analysis and revenue recognition review within month end close. Complete array of revenue analysis reports prior to and after month end close, including Hyperion Product Profitability Reports. AR Contract Management: Liaising with Customer Service and Business Managers, review customer contracts, pricing, terms and credit limits ensuring up to date Customer Master Database. Overseeing and ensuring AR controls are maintained. Forecast & Budgeting: Liaise with department heads, assuming full responsibility for SG&A monthly actuals, monthly forecasting and annual budget process. Ensuring all forecasting and budgets are reported in Hyperion Financial Management. Audit: Collaborate with internal and external audit teams providing analysis and details as required. Including maintenance of Statutory Trail Balance. Revenue Commissioners: Provision of monthly PAYE P30, Annual P35 returns & RSS1 forms. Accounting System: Liaise with GBS to aid in resolving any Oracle accounting or Hyperion issues. Other Project Work: On an ad hoc basis identify opportunities which have the potential to add value, follow through and recommend change. Key Requirments: Fully qualified accountant; ACCA/A.C.A. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess knowledge of Accounting policies and procedures. Must possess an understanding of the Accounting functions. The successful candidate must be able to analyse current situations with a focus on process improvement. Sound reasoning ability is critical. Strong PC skills are essential. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, management skills, strong work ethic, consensus gathering skills, organizational skills, experience working with an integrated ERP system (i.e. Oracle) preferred, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Lotus Notes. Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
