JOB TITLE: Project Engineers, Buildings and Structures. REF NO: J4505 REPORT TO: Director, Building and Structures. LOCATION: Galway. JOB TYPE: Permanent. We are currently recruiting Project Engineers who will contribute key members of the Buildings and Structures Team, in Galway. RPS Building & Structures sector provides project management and technical excellence in design, appraisal and construction of residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare and educational buildings for public and private Clients in Ireland and overseas. Candidate Requirements: A Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering as a minimum; a Masters qualification is advantageous. Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in the structural design of buildings. Chartered (or near chartered status. Knowledge and experience in using Eurocodes. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluent/proficient spoken and written English. A high level of attention to detail. Technical proficiency and experience of structural analysis & modelling packages including Robot, Lusas, Tedds, Masterseries etc. Strong interpersonal, social skills with the ability to manage other members of the design team. A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios Key Responsibilities: Structural design of buildings. Engage with Clients and Design Teams for project delivery. Manage design output to meet specified quality and agreed timelines and costs. Assist in procurement of new work in the Residential / Commercial / Industrial sector. Monitor and report on construction. Ensure full compliance with RPS procedures and quality systems Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Track record of working on projects in a collaborative Level 2 BIM environment. Previous experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams including architects, surveyors and contractors. Design experience in liquid retaining structures. Knowledge of Building Regulations, TGD’s, Building Control (Amendment) Regulations and Health & Safety (Construction) Regulations. Contract Document knowledge and experience of the Irish and/or UK markets. Experience in structural surveying and assessments. Project management experience on building design projects. Ability to builds effective relationships. Possess a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
