JOB TITLE:  Director of Regional, Community and Language Planning Development. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Regional, Community and Language Planning Development is one of three Senior Directors in Údarás na Gaeltachta.   The Director reports directly to the Chief Executive and is responsible for the management and administration of the Regional, Community and Language Planning Development Directorate. This appointment calls for an experienced, dedicated executive with strong leadership, creative, negotiation and communication skills, and managerial competencies and personal commitment enabling him/her to make a significant contribution to the management of Údarás na Gaeltachta , and to the development of enterprise, employment, community and culture in the Gaeltacht. The responsibilities of this role are based on based on six key areas of activity: 1.Language Planning Development. 2.Regional Development. 3.Enterprise Development. 4.Culture and Arts Development. 5.Development of the Social Economy. 6.Community Development. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership for the Directorate through effective coordination and delivery at a strategic level to ensure that the strategic, operational and financial objectives of the organisation are achieved. The Director will establish and maintain a positive relationship with senior officers in Government Departments, State bodies, national and international businesses, community and other relevant stakeholders in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Údarás na Gaeltachta Strategy for Ireland’s Gaeltacht regions.
