Contract role - Java Software Engineer. We have an exciting opportunity for a Software developer engineer to join our client, an innovative automotive company based in Galway. The role will focus on designing and developing standardized testing tools according to project requirements. To generate architecture documents, carry out design reviews and provide timing plans with milestones during tool development. Contract role, six months, competitive daily rates offered! The ideal candidate will have database design experience and a good understanding of SQL. In addition to experience with Rest services and/or Springboard. Responsibilities. Develop the necessary test tools to fulfil the project needs by working with internal teams and external suppliers. Provide clear road map for tool development showing how it fits within the current tooling infrastructure. Provide technical and training documentation for the developed tool which is clear and usable for teams inside and outside the organisation. Automate test equipment and implement continuous improvements to increase the robustness level of the test system. Manage the validation of the tool in line with best practice. Participate in Technology/Supplier/Test tool selection for new projects keeping abreast of the latest technologies and features. Liaise directly with internal teams ensuring the developed tool meets the needs of all users. Participate in customer workshops & RFQs as required. Interface directly to your counterparts at vehicle manufacturers to plan and agree development of your assigned tools. Requirements. You must hold a relevant Technical Engineering Degree eg. Computer Science with at least 2/3 years’ experience with Java ORM tools like Hibernate or JPA. A database design background and a good understanding of SQL. To have experience with continuous integration tools such as Git, Jenkins or Docker plus Rest services and microservices architecture.
