SLMS SAM Services provides a service to enable customers to maximise their return on investment (ROI) in software and thereby reduce their spend with strategic software vendors. The Solution Engineer will be instrumental in driving the business forward and will work with account teams to provide a deeper knowledge of our service and its component parts in terms of architecture, tooling and resultant service deliverables. For this sales engineering position, we are seeking a pre-sales candidate that has a background in one or more of the following areas, Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software packaging, software virtualization, security, or related disciplines. Responsibilities. Provide software asset management knowledge to sales and account teams and maximise opportunities to drive revenue with their accounts. Support sales and account teams to create the buying vision for proposing to the customer. Develop business case and ROI calculations to justify the solution value using relevant tools. Work closely with account teams and customers to reinforce the service value proposition and provide to them a high level understanding of implementation. Work with account teams and customers on their software asset management strategies. Own and/or contribute to RFI/RFP responses either solely or as part of a larger DXC bid team. Produce and/or deliver customer specific demonstrations, technical presentations and pilot/proof of concept activities. Work with the Build team to define offerings and provide insight from the field for offering development. Adhere to internal reporting processes for sales tracking and pipeline/revenue management. Requirements. Dynamic, self-starter with the ability to deliver presentations to all levels within the organization. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a 'customer facing' environment. Knowledge and/or pre-sales experience with Software Asset Management / IT Asset Management (SAM/ITAM. Strong presentation skills to technical and business (onsite, conference or seminar. Ability to map customer’s high level business problems to the service solution and value. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines or equivalent experience. Strong documentation skills (Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint) are required. Competencies: Strong Communication skills (written and oral) - presentation; over the phone/conference call, webinar; technical proposal writing.
