Applications are invited for a Research Officer who will be employed by the National Cancer Registry to support the Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) project. The post-holder will: establish procedures within hospitals to identify newly diagnosed prostate cancer cases; collect patient, tumour and treatment-related information; and collect clinical follow-up data. The successful candidate must have a third level qualification in healthcare or an allied discipline, a RGN or equivalent nursing qualification, or be educated to degree level in health sciences or a related subject. S/he must have worked in a healthcare environment for at least two years and be familiar with medical terminology. Computer literacy is essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The post will be based at University Hospital Galway.  Starting salary will be in accordance with Department of Health Officer Grade IV: €27,290-€44,773.
