You’ll be the supervisor of the Microbiology Lab to provide an effective testing service to the flagship Galway site. It will be your responsibility to provide support and guidance in the areas of cGMP, Compliance, Regulatory, technical investigations, test method validation and environmental control. Responsibilities. You’ll be Supervising the lab and conducting the final review and approval of laboratory results, protocols, reports, SOPs etc. You will provide Technical Guidance / Trouble Shooting. You’ll consult on quality and microbiological issues, support Problem Solving and Resolution. Co-ordinate the Environmental Control testing controlled areas within the plant. Support Validation of new and existing Products to ensure compliance with current microbiology regulatory standards. You’ll Continuous Improvement projects within the lab. You’ll look after Training and Development of laboratory staff and ensure all direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality. With HR you’ll select and recruit Micro staff in conjunction with human resources. Conduct performance reviews of your direct reports. Qualifications and Experience. HETAC Level 8 degree (240 credits) in Microbiology or similar discipline. Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role. Experience of managing a team is essential for this role. Good technical capabilities in Microbiology, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative. Knowledge of ISO 17025 would be beneficial. Benefits. 10% Annual Bonus.
