Galway County Council is the local authority for the County of Galway serving a population of over 179,000 and providing a forum for effective, accountable and democratic representation, the efficient performance of functions and the delivery of a range of services for the County. A vacancy now exists in Galway County Council for an experienced senior manager to play a leadership role as a Director of Service. Reporting to the Chief Executive, they will be responsible for policy implementation, service delivery and change management. The successful candidate will have: • A career record that demonstrates the necessary senior level leadership and management skills to manage, develop and motivate a large multidisciplinary team; • Experience of managing change in a complex and dynamic environment; • A significant record of achievement of results; • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
