Description

Accounts Payable Controller. Global pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Galway, seeks to hire an Accounts Payable Manager. You will have five years’ experience in a similar role, leading a team of three. This is a permanent role, reporting to the head of finance. This is a key position within the Finance Structure and will be responsible for the Accounts Payable function for the trading group. Job Responsibilities. Lead a team of three Accounts Payable resources and ensure they meet their performance goals. Manage the AP processes to ensure that they are completed on a timely basis. Ensure all purchase invoices and credit notes are processed appropriately using the correct channels to route/process invoices. Ensure all stock invoices are matched correctly to GRN’s. Ensure all non-stock invoices have an appropriately approved purchase order generated. Ensure creditor reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and that reconciling items are resolved timeously. Review the controls in place and make recommendations to enhance the internal controls to prevent unauthorised/inappropriate transactions being captured. Coordinate with back-office functions being performed by other group companies, ensuring the correct procedures are being followed. Produce monthly KPI reports showing processing volumes by person, backlog by company and developing trend analysis. Streamline the payment process to minimise the number of payment runs being processed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Work cross-functionally with other finance colleagues to streamline the Procure to Pay process. Ensure there is no manual circumvention of controls, that the Delegation of Authority is followed and that any instances of non-compliance are investigated, and loopholes closed off. Provide training and constant feedback to other business users as to the correct procedures to be followed for invoices to be processed. Actively identify opportunities to streamline the workflow process and reduce the administrative burden. Qualifications. Relevant 3rd level qualification. Degree qualified (preferable but not essential. At least five (5) years + experience in a similar role, ideally pharmaceutical/healthcare multi-currency, multi-company experience would be an advantage. Excellent written and communication skills. Strong computer skills in MS Office. Organisational skills, personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are key communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team and manage diverse personalities and viewpoints. Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is vital.
