Support Technician – Galway. Our client, one of Irelands leading providers of advanced retail hardware and software solutions are looking for a Support Technician to join their Galway team. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of IT/Networking and experience in the retail trade is advantageous. It is a full-time position and could involve working Saturdays and Sundays. Job Responsibilities: Being the first line of support to their customer base and offering advanced support by answering customer’s technical queries and solving issues remotely. Logging all calls in their ticketing system. Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of client issues. Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical customers. Responding to phone calls, emails and tickets in a timely manner. Escalating issues internally with the relevant departments and following up to ensure issues are fully resolved. Updating customers in a confident and reassuring manner. Keep Knowledge Base articles up to date and adding new articles as required. Diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary. Job Requirements: Software support / call centre experience preferred. Networking Knowledge. Operating Systems Knowledge. SQL Knowledge. Web technologies. Confident when dealing with customers. Problem solving skills. Knowledge of web hosting and email technologies. Strong interest in I.T. Ability to learn quickly. Team player.
