I am keen to find a Lead Controls Engineer to be part of a new team in this growing & dynamic company developing a new product within their existing product range. You will work as a member of a Systems Architecture Design & Controls Team supporting NPI/NPD supporting embedded controls development projects, working with hardware, software, validation test & system integration functions. Core Job Responsibilities: Develop controller models for system level control algorithms & logic that provide superior performance, enhance reliability & diagnostics. Execute model-in-the-loop simulations to verify control behaviour & performance. Support system & sub-system level integration testing to ensure control system behaviour meets functional & non-functional requirements. Review & analyse system test data. Mentor & supervise team members. Work with software development teams to integrate model-generated software into application software. Adhere to model development stds. & processes. Collaborate with System integration teams & Product mgt. Drive project execution to achieve project milestones. Develop & execute team technology & process strategies. 10% travel anticipated eventually when it is safe. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Eng (electronics, electrical, mechatronics etc) or Computer Science . Up to or ideally 12 years' exp in controls, electronics, systems or software engineering is required. Master's Degree in Control Theory is welcomed. Key Competencies: Exp with model based design processes & modelling & simulation of complex systems is required. Understanding of control system design. Classical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering. Advanced control knowledge preferred (modern control theory, model predictive control, non-linear control, adaptive control, fuzzy logic. Advanced proficiency with Matlab, Simulink & Stateflow is required. Underst&ing of optimization techniques is preferred. Exp with MAAB, J-MAAB, IEC 62304 stds. or equivalents are preferred. Exp in automating processes is preferred. Proficiency in SVN, Jenkins or Dymola beneficial. Knowledge in refrigeration, vapor compression or thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is a plus.
