Position Summary: Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer to work within a unique team in the IoT space, developing products to work in with mobile apps, wireless technology & database solutions. This is a unique chance to be part of the big data revolution. You will have an interest in firmware dev, thrive on the challenges of learning new technologies & enjoy working as part of a highly skilled & project orientated team. Responsibilities: Design - working with Product & Project Mgt. on NPD/NPI architecture. Develop designs, writing & testing your own unit code using strict methodologies, code reuse, maintainability, testing & documentation. Quality Assurance - develop test cases in line with best practice methodology. Project Environment - Work in a cross-functional agile team to develop features across software stacks. Qualifications & Skill set: - Degree in Electronics, Software etc with 3 plus years Linux/C programming skills. Experience developing & debugging multi-threaded systems. Understanding of UNIX/Linux operating systems & programming environments. Strong coding skills with ability to write well documented, maintainable, & testable code. Excellent problem-solving skills & the ability to demonstrate logical troubleshooting steps when working on software bugs. A genuine passion & interest in technology & software dev. with a thorough knowledge of best practices & new technologies. Self-mgt. skills, particularly in respect to prioritization & execution. Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn & take advantage of new concepts, business models, & technologies. Have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people. Desirable skills you will develop in this role: Linux Kernel &/or driver development. Unit Test driven dev. Bluetooth classic or BLE dev. Exp with GSM AT Commands / Modem integration. GPS/Positioning; CAN Bus experience & Sensor integration. Development & debug of firmware such as u-boot.
