I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work in an R&D Centre as part of a global company. Working with the Engineering team, driving improvements through design & innovation on temperature control products; influencing productivity & product enhancements being delivered to customers. Responsibilities You will :- Identify, design, & deliver eng. projects on products to support factory, supplier & customer needs. Investigate new technologies & processes to determine suitability for use. Development, implementation & coordinate component/module/system validation plans in R&D test with the Test & Reliability teams, using methodology, such as DFMEA. Experience working in (NPD) Process, & understand documented milestone deliverables. Support other functions, leading & supporting cross functional & external teams. Apply problem solving tools to create solutions on existing products & NPD. Be a change agent, think "out of the box" to bring about innovation. Keep up to date with leading edge technical dev for next generation product concepts. Work within processes to plan, schedule & report on design projects PM software to coordinate strict deadlines. Co-ordinate on project efforts across non-engineering functions. Plan & Conduct Application Testing based on risk analysis using std. tools after understanding customer requirements. Use whole organization as a resource, capturing the exp. & expertise of the company's supply base, while utilising the design & manufacturing resources, & end-user expertise & experience. Proficiency in ProE software a distinct advantage. Proficiency in Large Assembly Techniques will be required as is a detailed understanding of BOM & design structure. Competencies in some of the following would also be a distinct advantage: Refrigeration, Machining, Sheet metal & Plastic design, FMEA, 6 Sigma, Vibration measurement, FEA, Stress analysis & Failure analysis. Qualifications & Experience Degree/Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Previous experience in other related areas, such as Reliability Engineering, Refrigeration, Machining, Sheet metal & Plastic design, FMEA, 6 Sigma, vibration measurement, FEA, stress analysis & failure analysis is desirable. 3 to 5 years relevant experience in Mechanical, aerospace, industrial, agricultural machinery, automotive industry desired. Fluent English - other European language an advantage. Proficiency in ProE software a distinct advantage. Ability to manage critical product cost & NPD projects with team members & partners spread across global locations. Capable of developing & executing test plans, interpreting test data, & developing & driving relevant corrective measures where necessary. Previous experience in (NPD) processes & Projects, DFMEA, SixSigma, welcomed. Competitive salary and great benefits on offer.
