The Local Government Sector in Ireland has responsibility for the delivery of a wide range of services in local areas, with a focus on ensuring cities, towns and the countryside remain an attractive place to live, work and invest in.   An opportunity now exists in Galway County Council for the position of Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer.   Reporting to the Chief Fire Officer, the Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer will be required to lead a team in any of the main disciplines of the Fire Service: Fire Prevention, Operations, Fire Safety Management, Major Emergency Management, Civil Defence or Building Control.
