Description

Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer. This is a key role within an engineering R&D Department for an Electrical Design Engineer. You will work as design engineer in an R&D centre with responsibility for Quality & Reliability design for NPI/NPD. This role will involve driving reliability & cost improvements through design & innovation on temperature control products as part of global team. Duties & Responsibilities: Identify, design , & manage Electrical / Electro nic engineering projects that will exceed reliability & productivity requirements. Apply 6-Sigma tools & techniques to problem solving & new product development. Act as a change agent, thinking "out of the box" to bring about change & innovation. Keep up to date with leading edge technical developments that may contribute to the next generation product concepts. Work with Controls & Software groups to develop software specifications & Controls Algorithms. Co-ordination of any required regulatory test ing of Electrical / Electro nic solutions by external agencies as per reg. stds. Develop & manage electrical supplier partnerships working closely to develop & deliver solutions. Knowledge of relevant electrical safety stds & protocols applicable to mobile rotating electrical equipment, & mobile AC transmission systems. Knowledge & ability to work within a controlled Project Management Process to coordinate strict deadlines. Co-ordinate where necessary on project efforts across non-engineering functions. Proficiency in Electronic design & control software is required. Exp in the following is great: refrigeration, mechanical experience, FMEA, 6 Sigma, Vibration, stress, FEA & Failure analysis. Qualifications & Experience: Degree/Masters in Electrical/Electronic, Electro-Mechanical Eng. discipline. Hands on experience with design & testing in aerospace, industrial, or automotive industry desired. Exp in Induction Motor & Magnet Generator technology an advantage. Knowledge & exp of control systems & software testing & debug an advantage. Prior exp. of component qualification & NPD in an automotive/ machinery environment. Project Management & exp in other related areas, such as Reliability Engineering, Refrigeration, Mechanical design , FMEA, 6 Sigma, vibration measurement, FEA, stress analysis & failure analysis is desirable.
