Technological University of the Shannon:  Midlands Midwest On the 1st October 2021, Ireland’s third Technological University - the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, will be established. With 1,200 staff and 15,000 students, across the main campuses in Athlone and Limerick (Moylish and City Centre), and additional campuses in Clonmel, Ennis and Thurles, this will be Ireland’s first cross-regional university, leading transformational change across adjacent regions linked by the River Shannon. The Technological University is now seeking to appoint its inaugural President and is inviting suitably qualified applicants for the role. The Role. The role of President is a critical leadership role. The President will be the Technological University’s chief officer and accountable person, complying with the Code of Governance for public bodies. The Person. The successful candidate will be an inspiring and strategic leader, with a proven track record of achievement at an appropriately senior level in higher education, business/enterprise or the public sector. They will have highly developed leadership, organisational and communication skills combined with the strategic capability, vision and drive to shape the future of the Technological University.
