Project Automation Engineer. A great new role for an Automation Engineer to support NPD/NPI & the technology needed on an automated product assembly site. You will work within & on New Product Development (NPD) & New Technology Introduction (NTI) to improve site Automation. Responsibilities: Map out future Eng. Value-adding developments & initiatives using lean methodologies that will sustain, promote & advance the competitive edge of processes/products in global market. Have track record in driving CI in Automation & Robotics. Exp. in project mgt. leading to implementation of bespoke capital automation driven from within the company's functions & selected solution providers. Provide Engineering Leadership/support for manufacture of products to world-class stds; ensuring products are built in safest & most cost effective way. Co-ordinate & accelerate the implementation of new engineering changes - both product & process into plant & implement technology advances into the manuf'g processes for existing products. Interface / engage with supply mgt., production, quality, supply chain & the design Engineering Teams to ensure that the manuf'g Eng. Function is supporting the development of new & world class products. Be proficient in Design for manuf'g, PFMEA, Rapid proto-typing, 3P, Pro-E; Process simulation Line balancing & A3 project mgt. with knowledge in the use of Shingijitsu tools. Competent in providing timely long term Engineering Solutions, whilst gathering ideas of everyone in the process. Eliminate dangerous occurrences in manuf'g & achieve world-class premier performances in safety. Skills & Qualifications: Min. Hons Degree Engineering. 5 years exp. working in automation & in project leadership role. Can develop business cases & sell benefits to key s/holders. Hands on exp. with PLC programming & troubleshooting in Allen Bradley. Ideally have Vision Systems - selection & installation exp; Have virtual modelling to aid automated manuf'g cell design & Delivery Systems. Critically prepares & evaluates information to create innovative solutions. Builds relationships, trust & engagement across all functions & stakeholders; Self-motivated & driven; taking total ownership.
