For full job description and details on how to apply: https://www.nsso.gov.ie/en/corporate-information/careers/   The National Shared Services Office (NSSO) is recruiting for Finance Team Managers (Assistant Principal Officer (AP) Level) (Finance) within our Finance Shared Service Function in Galway & Tullamore.  The NSSO plays an important role in the long-term professional development of the Civil Service and delivery of Government’s priorities.  Our Public Service 2020. Our mission as a Civil Service office is to deliver excellent services to Civil and Public Service staff (our end-users), on behalf of our client Public Service Bodies (PSB) and deliver value for money to citizens by providing excellent corporate business services and data insights to Government. We set high standards for shared services in the Public Service, and we work in partnership with our customers to deliver quality fit-for-purpose services that lower costs, increase efficiency, and provide information to management to aid decision-making. We advocate for investment in new technology to deliver better processes and data analytics for the business services that Government needs. We set standards for shared services for the whole public service. Over the next 3 years some of the finance functions, currently carried out within the 48 in-scope Public Service Bodies (PSBs), will move in waves to the Finance Shared Service (FSS). The FSS sites will be spread across three locations; Galway, Tullamore and Killarney. The estimated gross annual government spend of c. €60bn, together with c. €13bn of annual receipts, will be processed through the FSS. The FSS will lead and manage all critical finance activities including; accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and asset maintenance, cash management, tax returns, general ledger, financial reporting and analysis, internal audit and financial systems management. The consolidation of finance transaction processing activities into the FSS will free up time in the Client finance functions to focus on higher value added activities, and allow for enhanced decision making support to Central Government, enabled by significantly improved information and data insights. This position represents an opportunity to play a key role in the development and operation of a service that is important to the ongoing process of public service reform. The wave 1 group of public sector bodies transitioned to Finance Shared Services in April of this year.
